Easter 2011

Easter was a lot of fun this year. Unfortunately I don't have many pictures of the actual Easter morning and the girls with their baskets because they woke us up at 4:30am!! Lillie was too excited and couldn't stand it. We got "wak-up calls" every 20 min until we finally gave in at 6:30. Brad and I were so tired all day. I did get a picture of our lolipops that grew in the backyard. Every year on the night before Easter each of our girls gets to plant a few jelly beans in the backyard and through the magic of Easter a lolipop will grow overnight and be there in the morning when they get up. This is a fun tradition that I found online a few years ago and my kids LOVE it.

Every year we have a big Egg Hunt at my parents house with all the cousins. The kids always have a great time. My mom does such a good job filling all those eggs with fun things and organizing the whole thing.

We had an Egg Hunt/Breakfast at the park by our house with some friends. One of the ladies had some potato sacks for races and this was the big hit of the day. It was so cute seeing the little ones Lucy's age do it too.

Egg Hunt #3 (our kids are soooo spoiled) was just before Easter Dinner at Nana Lisa's house. Brad's grandparents, Aunt Lindy and Uncle Mike, her parents from England, and my sister Natalie's family were there. It was yummy food and lots more candy!

Start Spreadin' The News...

We did it! We farmed out all 4 kids, booked 4 flights (Brad and I had to fly on different days...complicated) and made a trip out to New York to visit the wonderful Crandalls. I arrived Wed night and got to spend the whole day Thursday with Jenna and her kids before Brad got there. She is supermom with her three little ones walking around the concrete jungle.

When we arrived, Jenna surprised us with tickets to see WICKED. I don't think the word amazing does it justice. It was an experience that I will never forget.

Kid Time!

We had a blast hanging out with Davis, Gwen, and Chloe. They are the sweetest kids and Davis is such a trooper walking around the city. We also finally were able to meet the new addition to their family, little Chloe.

Sight Seeing

Yuuuummmmy Food!

I think I gained 10 lbs with all the delicious food we had while we were there. We ate pizza too many times to count, had the BEST chocolate desserts at Max Brenner, desserts from Magnolia Bakery, yummy cafe breakfasts, and great food at Chelsea Marketplace.

The night Brad left, Dennis watched Davis and Gwen so Jenna and I could do some shopping and eat at Serendipity. I am so lucky to have such a great sister-in-law that is so fun to hang with.

mmmm, frozen hot chocolate!

Museum of Natural History

We were excited to have our own "Night at the Museum" experience

Walking the Brooklyn Bridge

Sunday morning we walked the Brooklyn Bridge and walked around Brooklyn for a little while. Brad and I stopped for a little lunch (super yummy Pizza of course) and good old fashioned ice-cream cones.

Thank you to Jenna and Dennis! It was a trip we will never forget and the best part was being able to spend time with your sweet family.

Conversation with my 8 yr old

This conversation took place last night while I was in the middle of cooking dinner in super speed because Penny was crying and waiting for me to feed her.

Abbie: "Mom, where is my sling that I had when they thought I broke my arm?"
Me: "Why do you need it?"
Abbie: "Because I have a cut on my arm."
Me: "Ummm, Ok. It's in your room either under your bed or in that purse you have hanging on your bed post."
--Abbie goes away and comes back 5 seconds later--
Abbie: "Mom, it's not in there. I looked everywhere."
Me: "Did you look under your bed and in that purse hanging on your bed post?"
Abbie: (in her most annoyed voice) "Yeeeessss, it's not anywhere, can you come find it, puhlease?"
Me: "If I come and look for it, and I find it, you owe me money."
Abbie: (thinks for a second) "How much?"
Me: "One dollar"
Abbie: (pauses) "Hold on..."
--Abbie goes back to her room and comes out with the sling one second later.--
Abbie: "Nevermind mom, I found it."
Me: "Where was it?"
Abbie: "Under my bed"
