Cheerleading

About a month ago Abbie participated in a Cheer Clinic put on by the High School near our house. They did a 2 hour clinic with the Varsity Cheer coach and cheerleaders and then the next week were able to cheer at a Varsity game until half time. They all got T-Shirts and cute matching hair bows to wear at the game. They did their little cheers and chants they learned out on the track the whole time then performed a cute dance during half time. It was so much fun, even though it was still a thousand degrees outside.

First Day of School

Abbie started 2nd grade this year and Lillie started Kindergarten. We signed the papers on our new house we are renting the day before school started, drove straight to the new school and registered them, then went to meet the teacher that night. The next morning, these brave little girls started their new school. Luckily my sister's kids go to this school too, so they knew their cousins and that helped them feel a little bit better. They adjusted so quickly and have loved their new school. We didn't move into our house until 3 weeks after school started so I had to drive them 20 minutes each way for those first weeks, but now we just walk down the street. It's so great and they are making good friends already.
Fresh faced and ready to go.

I made them take a picture like they were walking out the door ready to leave, even though we had to drive.

Abbie was pretty nervous...this is her 3rd elementary school. She has been to a different one every year so far, but hopefully we can just stay put for a while now. I think that she felt better knowing that Lillie was also starting new and they could do it together.

Lillie on the Kindergarten playground. She did so great with all day school, she was definitely ready. She finally told me, "ok mom, you can go now."

Lining up and heading in with all of her school supplies.

Grandma June

This summer my wonerful, amazing, fun, sweet, caring, smart, lovable Grandma June came to Arizona for a visit. She stayed for 2 weeks, but it only felt like 2 days. One of the nights she came over for a dinner with just my little family and we took some pictures with her. Unfortunately my kids were already in their pajamas when we took these pictures.

July 2010

A couple weeks after our beach trip to San Diego, we were able to drive back out to Cali for Brad's lil sister Kristen's Baby Blessing. Her and her husband Garrett had a sweet little baby, Wesley, last May. Here is the whole fam after the blessing enjoying the yummiest cake and cupcakes!

Kristen, Abbie, and cute little Wesley. He is such a look-a-like of his Daddy, but I think he's starting to show some of his Mommy too. Especially through his eyes.

We took the oportunity of being in Valencia, CA to spend one of the days at Magic Mountain. We were able to stay at Garrett's sister Carrie's house again and took their 2 little girls with us. The Illum's are such a fun family and we looove staying at their place.

Here's Lucy, Lillie and Berlin taking a snack break at Magic Mtn.

Brad and Lucy on a ride. The workers wouldn't let me go on ANYTHING. I couldn't even go on the little horse carasol with Lucy.

Log ride. Poor Lillie and Berlin were in the front so they were SOAKED. It was good though because it was such a hot day.
All the kiddos. Sydney, Abbie, Berlin, Lillie and Lucy

All of us. Lucy was terrified of the characters. But, being the mean mom that I am, I still wanted her in the picture with us.

31 weeks and counting...

I thought I would take a little break from my summer catch-up posts and show you what I've been up to lately...
Not much, just growing a baby! Here is me at 31 weeks. Just like every other pregnancy, people LOVE to comment on my size and tell me to make sure I'm not really carrying twins.

San Diego Beach Trip--July 2010

We went to San Diego this summer for a fun trip to the Beach with Brad's side of the family. His mom Lisa puts this together for everyone and it is always so much fun. It's so great that the cousins are starting to get older, so they can play more on their own with one another.

One of the days Lisa rented these fun electric boats and kayaks for everyone to try. The kids loved it.

Kristen and sweet baby Gwen

We took a boat cruise one evening. It was so cute, they had all these fun dance activities for the kids. Here are Brad and Lucy striking their best dance pose.

All the cousins, minus little Wesley

One of the days Brad took Lucy back to our room for a nap and this is what we found. Her sprawled on top of him with a very sandy bum. It was the cutest and they were both out cold. I don't even know how he could sleep like this.

Our hotel had a cute little area where they kept rescued seals. Believe it or not, these seals were all blind. Kind of crazy.

Tree climbing time...thanks to the spotter, Uncle Scott

Lillie and Jackson, looking so big! These two used to drive each other crazy in their younger days. It's so fun to see all the cousins having so much fun together.

Our hotel had a private beach on the bay. Perfect place to hang out with the little kiddies. No waves and no crowds.

Thanks again to Lisa for always putting together a great trip!
