4th of July 2010

We had a fun 4th of July this year. Saturday started out with a ward bike parade/pancake breakfast. The breakfast was held in the backyard of a family in our ward. It was the coolest backyard. I wish I had taken a picture of the yard. Tons of grass, a pool area, playground area with sand, basketball court, huge covered patio....The kids had so much fun. It would have been even more fun if it wasn't a million degrees outside! Even at 7 am.

Lucy and I were a little late to the bike parade and totally missed getting picks of all the kids, so I made them reenact it in the driveway when we got home.

After we got home from the ward breakfast, we decided we needed a break from the heat and packed up for an impromtu trip to my parent's cabin. Payson has a cute little (I mean LITTLE) 4th of July parade that we went to downtown. The girls loved all the old fashioned cars and especially all the candy that was thrown in the streets for them to grab.

One of our favorite things to do at my parent's cabin is to take the golf cart down the road to Christopher Creek. We love to throw rocks in the water, hike around, and most of all catch Krawdads!

Don't worry, no Krawdads were hurt in the making of these memories. We like to put them on the rocks and watch them throw themselves back into the creek.
