Happy Birthday To ME

I figured I needed to document this birthday, since it's supposed to be a "big one." At least that is what everyone keeps telling me. I really am not feeling any different, no crisis yet. Still could happen, we'll see how tomorrow goes. Although I think it's totally crazy that I will be 30 tomorrow, I really am not having too much of a problem with it...so I decided to write down who I am at 30 so I will always remember. So, here is me (for anyone still looking at my blog)

Right now I'm sitting here with a dishtowel over my shoulder (a frequent accessory to my outfits) and spaghetti sauce on my sleeve anticipating the Bachelor Finale tonight!

I LOVE....
to read books in bed with my kids
spend as much time as possible outside (if it's warm)
be with friends
be with family
go to the beach
travel-but at the same time love being home
have people over for dinner
read
watch my shows at night while i'm folding laundry
go out to eat (food tastes so much better when I don't have to make it)
watching my kids play with friends
watch movies snuggled with my family on the couch
visit my mom's house so that I can have a "MOMMY" too for a few days
go on dates with Brad

I HOPE....
that my girls marry good guys
my girls don't hate me too bad during their teenage years
to pay off my house someday (that would be SWEET!)
to move back to AZ someday
that winter will end soon
my tulips will come up this spring (I seriously destroy everything I plant)
i am a good mom

Fun Cures for Winter Cabin Fever

I came across these in the "Wonder Time" Magazine and they are actually some I will definitely be trying these next couple weeks. Sometimes I read ideas of stuff to do with you kids in magazines and I think, "ya, right...whoever wrote this definitely does not have kids."

So, here are some that might actually be fun...hope this helps all you mom's out there that are so done with winter, I feel your pain!

1. Look up your local greenhouse (Thanksgiving Point has a little one) and see if they will let you bring in a little PICNIC LUNCH for you and your kiddos...add a blanket and maybe it will feel like you are really having a picnic outside.

2. Make an OCEAN by filling up the tub and adding blue and green food coloring. Then, let your kids get the pool/beach toys, goggles and swimsuits on for a little "pool" time.

3. Hang butcher paper on the bottom part of a long wall in your house. Get washable crayons, markers, pencils for your kids to WRITE ON THE WALLS.

4. Pull the kitchen playset into the real kitchen and COOK WITH SNOW brought in from outside.

5. Buy a roll of BUBBLE WRAP from your local office supply store and tape it to your hard wood or tile floor. Have you kids run barefoot over it and it creates instant popping fun. (This idea is actually mine that we tried a couple years ago, it's not only fun for the kids, but I thought it was a blast too)

6. Fill up craft squirt bottles with water and different food coloring, then bundle the kids up and they can go out and PAINT THE SNOW.

Watch out! Here comes TROUBLE

Lucy started crawling about a month ago and my life has definitely changed. She is one busy girl, but still such a good natured, easy going baby. Last week she pulled up to standing for the first time. She was so excited she just started squeeling at the top of her lungs, then of couse she fell back down onto her bum and got so mad. It's a whole new world in the Randall household.

Still catching up on October Posts...

Around the time of Abbie and Lillie's birthdays, my brother Joey and his family came into town for a visit. They had quite an eventful drive up here from AZ. They stopped overnight in Vegas and the next morning on their way out of town, their car broke down. Luckily, they weren't in the middle of nowhere, but they had to stay in Vegas for another night while it got fixed. Abbie and Lillie were getting so anxious to see their cousins, but luckily they finally arrived the next afternoon. We had so much fun and Abbie and Lillie loved playing with their cousins. We went to the Mayan, the Dinosaur Museum, the park, Abbie and Lillie's b-day party, and just hung out.

It took Lucy a few hours to decide if she liked my brother, but luckily he passed the Lucy test and she loved every minute that he was around.

Even if you don't want to buy anything, it would be fun to catch up. It's so hard to get together with friends when we come down for short holiday trips. I always have such good intentions, then by the time we have gone to all of the family things, it's time to leave again. I so miss living in AZ...especially now that winter is practically here.
